Arizona Folklore Preserve Schedule
May 19, 2006

     Hello to Everyone!

This weekend, May 20 & 21, we welcome western music trio, Way Out West, in their first ever performance at the Arizona Folklore Preserve.  Their music has been described by fans as fun and light-hearted as they play classic music of working cowboys, songs of Hollywood singing cowboys and their own songs and poetry.  Enjoy the vocals and guitar of Emmy Creigh, the vocals and bunkhouse bass of Slim Rost, and the vocals, banjo and guitar of Tom Poley.

The following weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, we wrap up our season with Arizona's Official State Balladeer and founder of the Arizona Folklore Preserve, Dolan Ellis . . . on stage with his music celebrating "40 Years of the Balladeer".

We just had two sold-out crowds this past weekend for Michael Grande, a world-class guitarist, songwriter and singer.  Hope to see many of you this weekend or next as we'll be closing for summer vacation the months of June and July.  We will be available for tour groups and private events, but will have no regularly scheduled shows.

We'll be back in August to start a new season of weekend entertainment.  We've already started a great line-up of talented folks for the fall season to include the Ronstadt, Ramírez Santa Cruz River Band, Tim Wiedenkeller, Kip Calahan (winner of AWA Rising Star Award, AWA 2004 Female Vocalist of the Year, AWA 2005 Western Album of the Year), Mark Mulligan in September, and Juni Fisher (AWA 2005 Female Vocalist of the Year) in November.  We will be announcing occasional Dinner Shows to include one already scheduled with Mark Mulligan in September.

Ramsey Canyon Inn continues to offer us incredibly gracious support as they host our talented guest artists in their beautiful facility.  Bill, Vicki, and Donna are absolutely wonderful hosts at the Inn.  What a wonderful idea to keep them in mind if you have out-of-town family or guests and need to house them in a cozy spot.  It's also a lovely idea to spend a weekend at Ramsey Canyon Inn yourself for a get-away!  The Inn sits adjacent to the Nature Conservancy's Ramsey Canyon Preserve.  You can go for a hike in the morning, enjoy a show at the AFP, and drive 4 miles to Carr Canyon Road to enjoy dinner at the Mesquite Tree Restaurant . . . a full weekend right here in the canyon with very little traveling around.

We'll keep you updated on the upcoming schedule, or you can always visit www.arizonafolklore.com and click on "upcoming events".

Keep Way Out West in mind for this weekend.  Have a wonderful summer . . . . If you need to contact us,
